Contact · 21 Rilling Rdg, New Canaan, CT

We pick up, we listen, and your release is looked after from the first call.

The quickest way to begin is a phone call. Tell us what you’re shipping and when; we’ll suggest the right language pack, send a time for a thirty-minute scoping call, and follow it with a written quote within one business day. Prefer to write? The form further down reaches the very same desk.

Hours

By appointment — book a call

Calls booked around your working day, wherever your team sits.

Before you ring

Have these to hand, and the scoping call stays comfortably inside thirty minutes

None of it is required — we’re glad to start from a screenshot and a hunch. But with these open on your screen, we can recommend a pack before we say goodbye.

A desk phone lifted from its cradle beside a printed string export with teal tabs and a notepad ruled into four language columns
Our side of a first call: your export, a notepad, and four columns waiting for your terms.
  1. The string export

Whatever your app or help center already produces. Keys and placeholders come back exactly as you sent them, so there’s no need to tidy anything first.

    • .json
    • .yaml
    • .xliff
    • .po
    • .strings
    • strings.xml
    • .csv
    • .md
  2. A rough word count

Your TMS will show it, or a two-line script will. A guess within a thousand words is perfectly fine — it’s how we tell a Microcopy Sweep from an Onboarding Pack.

  3. Which languages, and which flavour

Neutral Latin American or Castilian Spanish? Brazilian or European Portuguese? Du or Sie for German, and how formal your Japanese should feel. If you haven’t decided, we’ll talk it through.

  4. The release date

Even a target month helps. Languages run side by side, each with its own reviewer, so we can plan backwards from launch day without one language waiting on another.

  5. Who signs off on terms

The glossary is settled before any sentence is translated. Knowing who approves “workspace” or “billing seat” keeps that first sign-off to a single, easy email.

Sketch it before we speak

Rough-size your pack here, then bring the figure to the call

Choose what you’re translating, roughly how many words, and which languages. It works from our published prices, so it’s a fair guide — the written quote after your call is the one that counts.

What are you translating?
Roughly how many words?
Into which languages?

Choose all four and we take 8% off the pack total, with the four glossaries run side by side.

After the call

What lands, and when, once you’ve rung

Here is the stretch that follows a scoping call, written down so every delivery arrives expected. You’ll always know what comes next and whose desk it’s waiting on.

What Lingwhistle does after your first call, and what you receive at each point
WhenWhat we look afterWhat reaches you
On the call We open your export together, confirm languages and dialect, and agree the pack that fits the release. A plain recommendation before we hang up.
Within one business day We count the words properly and write up scope, turnaround and price per language. A written quote from studio@lingwhistle.com.
Once you say yes Your key terms are settled in each language before a single sentence is translated. A glossary, ready for your sign-off.
While we translate Translators work from screenshots or staging; any string likely to overflow is shortened and flagged. A short note, only if something needs your eye.
Hand-back A second native speaker clicks through the real flow on a real device, then files go back in your format. Your files, QA notes and the invoice — net 15.
Thirty days after launch One round of adjustments on us, with the glossary updated to match. The fix, folded into your living glossary.

Ring on a Monday and the scoping call can often sit in the same week. We’ll offer a couple of times and you choose.

Small courtesies, answered

Can you sign our NDA before we see the files?

Gladly. Send it with your first email and we’ll return it signed before anyone opens your export.

Our team is in Europe. Can we still talk?

Of course. Calls are by appointment, so we book a time that suits your working day — mornings in New Canaan sit comfortably alongside afternoons in Berlin or Lisbon.

Can we just send the file and skip the call?

Yes. Email the export or a shared-drive link to studio@lingwhistle.com with your languages and release date, and the written quote comes back the same way.
